There were several scattered about the mudflats. These were of the more rufous variety, as explained in Sibley's.
The shorebirds at Prairie Oaks were fantastic in the fall of 2004! As I explained in another post, the mudflats eventually turned into a marshy pond, and I rarely saw sandpipers there again.
