Location Estate at Hoffman Farms pond, Hilliard, OH
A totally random appearance, and perhaps difficult to believe, but Logan and I were quite sure of the field marks. The only bird in the pond on a cold, raw, cloudy day.
Eared Grebes are certainly not unheard of in central Ohio, but not very common. And to show up on a little neighborhood pond!
