232. California Towhee

Date         May 21, 2012
Location    Ernest Debbs park, Los Angeles, CA

Next up was a business trip to Los Angeles. I had been out west often enough by now that I was starting to get repeats of western birds, but there were still plenty out there, including many at least semi-exclusive to California.

Ernest Debbs park was a semi-wild park with picnic shelters, grills, etc. but plenty of trees as well. I didn't have enough time to venture down any trails, but they appeared to be of limited scope anyway. I just wandered around the empty park (it was very early in the morning), looking mostly at the edges.

The first new bird seen there was appropriately enough this one. He was underneath some pine trees on the ground.
