Like all Empids I've ever dared to identify (I tried to do it without a song once, and it just felt stupid bothering to try), the song was the key field mark. I did catch a few glimpses -- I guess confirming that a bird was up there making the Acadian Flycather song, but the identification was based purely on the song.
He was WAY high up in the tree tops, and I heard him singing quite often.
