132. Harris's Sparrow

Date          December 29, 2003
Location     Spring Creek Audubon, Lincoln, NE

At the feeders on a very cold day in the Nebraska prairie. I was thankful to be inside! The large size and pink bill were good clues.

Thus ended my first full year of bird watching. I saw 68, the most of any year to this point. Only 2002 comes close with 64, but a lot of those were commoners. 2003 had the benefit of more preparation and experience and a full spring migration.

By now I was pretty obsessed with the whole thing.
